Wanting Wisdom

Proverbs 2:6 "For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding."

James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

God is the Giver of wisdom. I cannot attain it on my own. It is not inherited, though I wish it were. James 1:2-8 says I must ask for wisdom in faith.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Sadly, today I have not lived in faith – working patience in my trials – and, therefore, I lacked wisdom today. I pray God will teach me how to live everyday in faith that He will work out the answers in His way. Without wisdom, I cannot be a wise woman – building a home for the glory of God.

Proverbs 2:7 “He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.”

“Layeth up” denotes "treasures stored and hidden" for me. “Sound wisdom” defined in Strong’s Concordance is “efficient wisdom; abiding success.” Yes, He has wisdom for me! Yes, I want wisdom!
