“Love is something more stern and splendid than mere kindness.” – C.S. Lewis
• Deeper than the outer fringe Runs truth from the inner root. Love sometimes has bonus bliss Yet strong and rich by steady pursuit. • Surface relationships cannot grow – Limited to what the eye can see. Beneath the topsoil one must spade to Nourish a sturdy friendship tree. • Love of this sort none can imitate. There’s no easy formula or shortcut. To give this love, one must know God’s love personally to be His love conduit. • Heavenly Father, teach me to love Better, deeper, and truer each day Holy Spirit, lead me to greater love With Jesus, my pattern: love is His way. • JLW 2.5.22

The world runs on the superficial in order to satisfy the insatiable craving for the genuine.
“Go faster.” “Do more.” “Get it done.” “Look the part.” “Do whatever it takes.” “Make it happen.” “Fake it ’til you make it.”
These mottos may grow a business. They may get your children to do the chores or appear as you want them to. These words may be offered from a sincere belief that this is how to live a life honoring to God. Yet, true relationship with God or with anyone cannot function optimally by these type of motivations. Only by the supernatural love of Christ can we truly love and relate to others authentically.
Ephesians 4 teaches us the only sure foundation of a genuine life lived for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
