Blue Skies and Cherry Pies

Writer: Jeri LynnJeri Lynn

"Have you ever been in a position where you wondered where your next meal or funds or clothing or shelter would come from? If you haven't, then maybe you have been in a place where you've wondered where encouragement to your heart would come from or if it ever would? Have you ever felt spiritually dry, in need of a drop of refreshment?

"Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed." -Psalm 37:3

This verse was the basis of our Spring Ladies Banquet with the theme: "Blue Skies and Cherry Pies." We long for the lovely blue sky days and the sweet taste of cherry pie in our lives, while many days are simply blue and tart to our taste.

When you need a glimpse of loveliness, trust the LORD. He is altogether lovely.

"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem." – Song of Solomon 5:16

When you need a taste of sweetness, trust the LORD. His Words are sweeter than honey.

"How sweet are they words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" -Psalm 119:103
